About FAD

The Florida Association of the Deaf (FAD) , operated of, by, and for the Deaf Community, advocates and promotes the quality of life and social welfare of deaf people by:

• Empowering deaf individuals to exercise self-determination and independence necessary to lead productive lives in the greater community.
• Ensuring equal opportunities for social, educational, and employment fulfillment.
• Advocating for and protecting our rights to functionally equivalent and accessible services.
• Recognizing American Sign Language (ASL) as a formal language.
• Preserving and respecting our culture and heritage.
